Apron Weigh Feeder

It is a continuous dynamic gravimetric feeding device. Adopting metal apron plates instead of rubber belts, it works reliably under severe conditions unsuitable for common belt scales.

Working Principle

Motor drives chains and apron plates. Load cells detect material weight, speed sensor tracks running speed. The controller calculates instantaneous flow and total throughput. VFD adjusts speed automatically for stable feeding and accurate proportioning.

The working principle is relatively straightforward.

Bulk material enters the feeder from a hopper or storage bin. The apron plates move continuously under the material layer and transport the material toward the discharge point.

A weighing section measures the load carried by the moving apron, while a speed sensor detects the actual conveyor speed. The control system combines these signals to calculate the instantaneous feeding rate.

If the actual flow rate differs from the target value, the variable-speed drive automatically adjusts the feeder speed. In this way, the weigh feeder can maintain a stable material flow according to the process requirement.

This continuous measurement is useful in production lines where the material feeding rate directly affects the quality or output of the final product.
