Screw Metering Scale (also commonly known as screw scale, screw weighing feeder, or auger scale) is an industrial continuous metering device that integrates powder/small particle material conveying, dynamic weighing and metering, and automatic quantitative batching. Relying on screw auger material conveying gravity detection, it calculates instantaneous flow rate and cumulative material usage in real-time. It is widely used in enclosed powder material working conditions and is one of the most commonly used batching and metering in cement plants and chemical plants.

 I. Overall Structural Composition

 1. Mechanical Conveying Part: Screw cylinder, screw blades, reducer variable frequency motor; divided into two mainstream: single-tube screw and double-tube double-layer screw (upper layer for stable flow, lower layer for metering, with higher accuracy) Douyin Baike. 

2. Weigh Detection Components: Weighing bridge, high-precision tension/pressure sensors, bearing the weight of the entire metering screw and the material inside the tube. 

3. Speed Measuring Element: Encoder, the rotational speed of the screw shaft and converting it into the linear speed of material conveying. 

4. Measurement and Control System: Weighing meter, variable frequency inverter, which can be to the factory DCS control system for automatic calculation and PID speed regulation to stabilize the material flow.

Core Working Principle Powder from the hopper falls into the screw tube, and the blades push the material forward for conveying; Sensors collect the actual weight signal of the material in the tube in real-time, and the encoder collects the screw rotational speed (speed); The controller combines the weight and speed for calculation, displaying the instantaneous flow rate (t/h) and cumulative total weight (tons) in real-time; The compares the set discharge amount with the actual flow rate, automatically adjusting the motor speed to achieve constant flow quantitative feeding and closed-loop material control Douyin Baike.

Advantages and Disadvantages Advantages Fully enclosed shell: No powder overflow or dust pollution, suitable for dusty materials such as fly ash, coal powder, and lime powder; Compact structure, be installed horizontally or at a small angle, occupying little space; Not easily affected by moisture, not prone to arching or clogging, integrating conveying and metering, eliminating the for separate conveying equipment; Supports automatic zeroing, calibration, and fault self-diagnosis, with data uploadable to the central control room. Limitations Only suitable for dry materials and fine small particles; large chunks and sticky clumping materials are extremely likely to jam the screw blades, making it inapplicable.
